Registration and Abstraction for 105th Open

It’s that time of year again. Registration and Abstract submission for the 105th meeting of the American Society of Mammalogists in Norfolk Virginia is now open. You can access it from the meeting website

The hotel website is also open and accepting reservations. Our room rate of $178/night is only available until May 19th, 2026. Unfortunately there are no residence hall options.

This year will be the first year we will hold the meeting over 4 days instead of 5. We kept the registration prices mostly consistent with last year.  We will also be making some changes that we hope will make the meeting more accessible.

  • We will be moving the student social to Saturday afternoon to provide an earlier opportunity for students to make connections.

  • We are introducing an award for best talk. There will be an initial review of abstracts to determine 6 PhD and 6 Master level talks that will have their own sessions the first day of talks. The best talk in each session will be determined and announced at the closing social. More information for this can be found here.

  • We will be offering lightning talk sessions.

  • There are no ticketed socials.

  • We will have some capability for a hybrid meeting in some of the plenary sessions.

  • We have introduced an early career registration level to make the meeting more affordable.

  • Registration and Abstract Submission have been unlinked. You can submit an abstract before you register. However, any abstract submissions without a registered presenter as of May 1 will be removed from the program.

  • There will be two pre-conference workshops and two mid-conference workshops. More information coming soon here.

We are working on field trips and will provide more notification when those are finalized.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me at mammal.meetings@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you in June.

Yours
