WHEREAS, the Wildlife Society and the American Society of Mammalogists in large part deal with the same body of knowledge and are concerned about many of the same problems; and
WHEREAS, the Wildlife Society has recently published a series of policy statements on Wildlife and Human Populations, Environmental Pollution, Introduction and Importation of Exotic Animal Species, Conservation Education, Animal Control, and Persisting Insecticides in a leaflet on The Role of the Wildlife Society; and
WHEREAS, these policies in almost every particular, reflect the views of the American Society of Mammalogists;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the American Society of Mammalogists commends the Wildlife Society and its officers for these statements of policy, endorses the policies and recommendations made on the above subjects, and suggests that mammalogists encourage the wide public dissemination of the views presented.
