You are invited to the New Members/Attendees Reception 6:00-6:30 pm Friday, 14 June!
Members who recently joined ASM or have never attended an ASM meeting are invited to mingle in Salon F in the Philadelphia Marriott prior to the regular opening reception. Even if you aren’t a first-time attendee, stop by and welcome our newest members. Get oriented to events planned for the meeting, enjoy some light hors-d’oeuvres, or talk to a Meeting Mentor. Hosted by the ASM Membership Committee.
Students Activities
Be sure to attend the Student Mixer 5:00-6:00 pm on Friday, 14 June!
The Student Mixer will be held at JW’s in the Philadelphia Marriott. At the mixer, we will present FAQ’s for getting the most out of the ASM Annual Meeting and introduce you to Meeting Mentors. The Mentors are other students and ASM members who have attended previous meetings and can answer your questions and help introduce you to ASM scientists you would like to meet during the opening reception or any time during the meeting. This is a great opportunity to meet other students (your future colleagues) and familiarize yourself with the workings of ASM Annual Meetings. We’re a friendly bunch!
Meal with a Mammalogist
We have a spectacular slate of ASM members for students to share a meal with at this year’s meeting, including Nancy Solomon, John Yunger, James Estes, Michael Willig, Felicia Keesing, Dean Biggins, Tereza Jezkova, Bruce D. Patterson, Jason Munshi-South, Frank Fish, Colin Groves, Link Olson, James H. Brown, and Robert Anderson. Sign-up to share a meal with one of these scientists will take place at the Student Table near registration at the Philadelphia Marriot Downtown. Meet the person you signed up with at 13 Restaurant in the hotel at the scheduled time.

Don’t know anyone to share a meal with? Unsure where to go for lunch or dinner at the meeting? Meet at the Student Table near registration during meal breaks and we will go as one or more groups to search out affordable dining experiences in downtown Philadelphia. Friendships you make at this meeting are likely to carry over for many, many years as you attend future ASM meetings.
