SE Oregon to C Utah and WC Colorado, south through Nevada, NW Arizona, and S California to S Baja California Sur, Mexico

Notes

Obtains water from fleshy plants such as yucca and prickly pear cactus. It usually makes a stick house under one of the food plants, or may den among rocks. Lives in deserts and coastal sage scrub; favors areas with rocky outcrops and plentiful succulents
